My First Anglican Prayer Beads

The cross on this set of beads is an item I purchased at a wonderful antique shop called Saints and Angels. It is a used item that was handcrafted. I especially like the trillium on it, as it reminds me of all the times I visited the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains. The number three is sacred in many faiths.

You can use this set of beads with so many different prayers. Here is a prayer that "came to me" (uh huh, I'll bet it was Brighid, Lady of Inspiration!) late last night:

Godspell

(for the Anglican Prayer Beads)

The Cross:  “Prepare ye the way of the Lord” (4 times)

The Invitatory:

“When wilt Thou save the people
  O God of Mercy, when?
  The people, Lord, the people,
Not thrones and crowns, but men.
  Flowers of Thy heart,
  O God are they.
Let them not pass like weeds away
  Their heritage a sunless day.
  God save the people.”

The Cruciforms:  “O bless the Lord my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name.”

The Weeks:

1. "Day by day
2.   Day by day
3.   O dear Lord three things I pray
4.   To see Thee more clearly
5.   Love Thee more dearly
6.   Follow Thee more nearly
7.   Day by day."

To Close:

The Invitatory:

“Come sing me sweet rejoicing,
  Come sing me love,
  We’re not afraid of voicing
All the things we’re dreaming of
Oh high and low, and everywhere we go
We can build a beautiful city
Yes we can, yes we can,
We can build a beautiful city,
Call it out and call it the City of Man.”

The Cross:  “Long live God.”  (4 times)

St. Christopher Chaplet

This looks much larger in this photo than it is. It's a little larger than a bracelet. And that's a normal-sized saint's medal. The photo shows it strung on waxed cotton cord, but I restrung it later on Beadalon wire (more flexibility).

Here is one set of prayers I found online for this chaplet:

"O St. Christopher, patron of travelers, protect me and all those who accompany me from mishap and accident. Guide me in my travels whether by land, sea, or air to my destination with safety. As you carried Jesus upon your shoulders may I also carry the burdens of life that I face with the same determination and inspiration. And may the beauty of this world that God has created with the joy of His Grace always be with me. Amen.

Say three Our Fathers, three Hail Marys, and Glorias."

Mousie's Blue Sky Bracelet

The other morning when I was out and it was looking threateningly stormy, I wished I had my Blue Sky Beads with me. Then I thought, "I need a small, wearable version that can go with me anywhere." So that afternoon I made this little Blue Sky Bracelet. The beads are all glass (I don't have any more semi-precious stones for the Four Quarters right now); but I figure if I keep them in the same pouch with the regular Blue Sky Beads, the energies will mingle. :-)
