CountryMouse's Diary

Part 43

Rainbow swirly bar

Sunday, August 1, 2004, 12:05am: Happy Lammas Day! Happy August !

Tuesday, August 3, 2004, 6:02pm: Yayayayay! The Weather Pixies are back! Wherever they went for a while, I hope they had a good time! :-D  And...the ones on my weather page are different people than the ones who went on vacation. Heh. I like girls who have large wardrobes. More fun to see what they are wearing throughout the year.  :-)

Saturday, August 7, 2004, 8:43am:  I've made a couple additions to my spirituality section, which is housed on/nested in My Unitarian Universalist Page. See Guiding Lights. I need to redo my Goddess page that I had up earlier on and put that up once again; because I am still a pagan, a polytheist, and a Goddess-lover. I am just a very eclectic U.U.  :-D

Tuesday, August 10, 2004, 4:56am:  If you haven't looked at My Treasures lately (which is where I keep most of my adoptions that I've found or been given), go check it out--I've added quite a few things lately!

Friday, August 13, 2004, 8:11am: Worried for my family down in Florida. They are in the Tampa Bay area and in the path of Hurricane Charley. Their house is on high ground and inland, but there are still the damaging winds and power outages to contend with.

To watch over you

Saturday, August 14, 2004, 12:01am: Hurricane Charley made landfall south of Tampa Bay, so things went much better for my family than was expected! Last I heard, they were having some gusty winds and rain. I will get a fuller report tomorrow/in the morning. Yay!!

AND! Today (it's still Friday the 13th to me) we got new Tamagotchi! It's called Tamagotchi Connection; and it's not supposed to be released until the 15th, but some stores are breaking the street date. ::grin:: Here is my page about mine. So cute! And fun new activities and such! There are new links up on the Tamagotchi Links page also. I will put photos up tomorrow of the ones that we bought.

10:47am: More Tamagotchi stuff: Alvin has been visiting his friends, Snake (Cat'r's Tam) and Grrr (Bunnicula's Tam). :-D  Karma does really work in this lifetime!! Alvin gave a gift of POOP to poor Snake (but made up for it later with a gift of a flower); but then he *received* poop from Grrr! LOL! I think these Tams are at what they call a "rebellious" stage. Or immature at the very least. ::grin:: Oh yeah, Alvin also gave Snake a Tam-in-the-tox (like jack-in-the-box), which scared poor Snake. :-(

My family said that all they had from Hurricane Charley was a little wind, a little rain! Hurray!

8:33pm:  More Tamagotchi stuff: today I happened to look in on Alvin, and he was happily rolling back and forth across the screen, like a dog rolls over. :-P  At 5:57pm (25 hours and 10 minutes after his birth) he became an ichigotchi! Very cute! Around 7pm I noticed him soaking in a nice hot tub! LOL! One bad thing: I wasn't paying attention, and he went to sleep at 8pm with poop beside his bed. :-(  I've been being really careful with him, keeping his hearts full and everything. ::sigh::

Sunday, August 15, 2004, 8:09am:  I thought Alvin would be getting up at 8am, but he is still sleeping. I need more sleep (I got up around 4:30am), so I paused him. I know this is going to slow his growth, but I don't want to miss when he wakes up so that I can clean up that poop from last night.

Basket o' laundryLots of laundry yesterday; ironing today (I wear a lot of silk and rayon and cotton, nice natural materials--they are NOT wash-and-wear. So they need wrinkles pressed out; plus they just *feel* better ironed).

12:31pm: I took Alvin off pause about 11am or so. He was immediately awake, and I cleaned up the poop from last night. I fed him and gave him a snack too. He visited Grrr three times. The first time Grrr gave him a present of cake! The second time...eewwww poop. :-(  The third time they had an eating contest, and Alvin won! Shortly thereafter Alvin called me a couple times within the space of about 15 minutes, but no call button was lit up, nothing was going on. I wonder what that was...At 12:30pm I looked in on him, and he was dancing! There were little musical notes around him, and he was high-steppin' it! So cute!Ironing board and iron

After I finish my brunch, I need to get to ironing. I may do that in a couple batches--there's a LOT of it! I also have to hem up a new skirt and move the buttons on several skirts. TMI? Well, it's not icky stuff, just pedestrian info.

11:32pm: I paused Alvin late this afternoon when I wasn't feeling well and had to take a nap. He's still on pause. We'll see how things go.

No ironing after all. Maybe tomorrow or so.

Monday, August 16, 2004, 12:16am: I unpaused Alvin about 12:10am, and he promptly went to sleep.

Tuesday, August 17, 2004, 4:36pm: I paused Alvin during the night so that I wouldn't miss when he awoke today. I had a doctor's appointment and didn't have time for whenever his awakening time was/is (I still don't know--it's not 8am). I unpaused him around 12 noon or so. He finally got a present that he can keep and have fun with! Grrr gave him a ball! So cute to watch him play with it!    Weird thing I caught Alvin doing today: running across the screen and falling on his face! I took this to mean he needed to work on the jumping-the-hurdles game. So we did.

Yay! Got a good amount of ironing done this afternoon! More later or tomorrow.

Wednesday, August 18, 2004, 9:07am: This morning I added onto my September 11th Memorial Page. Then I made my 9/11 Memorial Quilt. You can access the quilt either from the memorial page or from CountryMouse's House of Quilts. If you go there via the memorial page, you won't lose the music when you visit the quilt.

Oh, there are the two 9/11 quilt squares I made available over on My Squares For You.

10:49am: It seems that your Tamagotchi Connection can call for you even after it has reached 100% on training, which I think was what happened with the Angels. Alvin just now called and had his back to me (sign of insecurity, requiring praise). I did praise him, and he was happy; but it changed nothing re: his happy hearts (since they were full) nor his training level (which was already at 100%).

Thursday, August 19, 2004, 11:37am: Earlier this morning Bunnicula's Tamagotchi, Grrr, evolved into a Mametchi! Mine, Alvin, is still in teenage form, an ichigotchi. I guess he hasn't changed yet because I had him on pause more often. Cat'r's Tam, Snake, is also still an ichigotchi.

Moby - Play: The B Sides5:01pm: Woohoo! Alvin turned into a mametchi!! So cute! Just like my first-ever Tam, Eggy Peep, long long ago in 1997. :-)  Anyway, Alvin and I were doing the hurdles while Moby's "Running" was playing. After we finished the game (Alvin jumped about 25 hurdles), he evolved into his adult form, at exactly 4:08pm. He then danced very cutely back and forth across the screen in time to the music, hopping up and smiling broadly every now and then! "Running" is on Moby's "Play: The B Sides", which I just go in today. Click the pic at left to see it larger.  Oh, I discovered that although Alvin still has the ball that Grrr gave him, he can no longer play with it. :-(  Maybe he will get another present soon.

Friday, August 20, 2004, 2:07pm:  Last night around 6:30pm Alvin was taking a nice hot bath; around 7:30pm he was brushing his teeth! I forget what time he went to bed, but it was after 8pm.

For those who are concerned about Alvin not finding a bride: Mrs. Busybody, the Matchmaker, will be bringing around prospective wives if he hasn't found one on his own after 72 hours. :-) Well, how can he? He lives in a household of bachelors! But I'm sure Mrs. Busybody will find someone nice for him. :-)King's Restaurant

Oh yes, also last night Alvin got to watch "King's Restaurant", a Japanese drama we are watching. He came in on Episode 3; but since there is always a recap at the beginning of each episode, he was immediately up to speed. Well, and I'm sure the stuffed animals in the living room telepathically passed on any other information he needed. :-)  Great series! We love it! (click on the pic at right to see it larger)

Long Vacation11:42pm:  Cat'r and I watched all the rest of the Japanese drama "Long Vacation" late this afternoon/this evening! That was five episodes! We had been watching it a couple months ago, then got sidetracked. It was cute, sweet, sad, inspiring, and more! A wonderful mixed-up romantic comedy that keeps you wanting to see what happens next. Endearing characters, beautiful photography, gorgeous music! Heh, I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel; but I don't think they usually do sequels to JDoramas, as far as I know. (click on the pic at left to see it larger)

Puku - AquapetSaturday, August 21, 2004, 2:23pm: New virtual pets! Today I got three Aquapets: Puku, Tu, and Miku. I took photos (although the lighting wasn't great), but will get them up later. I also got two MicroPets: Nacho and Pesto--both MICE! Yay! So far I have only played with Puku. Very cute. :-) (click photo at right to see it larger)

I just realized I have a LOT of virtual pets I have not listed on My Other Virtual Pets page. And many Tamagotchi I haven't listed either: Devilgotch, Mothra, TamaOtch, etc. Oh well, something to do on another day!

This morning Cat'r's Tamagotchi Connection, Snake, transformed into a Maskutchi! Very mysterious! Alvin is just livin' the good life. :-)

Monday, August 23, 2004, 12:43pm: Stuff has been bizzy bizzy around here, so Alvin has been on pause for at least a day. And he hasn't visited Snake or Grrr either for a couple days. So that's why he hasn't gotten any older, nor has Mrs. Busybody come to visit yet.

Tuesday, August 24, 2004, 12:10pm: Hmm, weird. I could've sworn Alvin was 5 years old yesterday...and today he's 7?! Strrrrange. I wonder if Mrs. Busybody, the Matchmaker, will be here today. She visited Grrr (Bunnicula's Tam) yesterday and today. Grrr decided the girl she brought along yesterday wasn't for him; but today she brought along another Mametchi (Grrr is a Mametchi), so they sealed the deal, fell in love, the fireworks happened, and Grrr now has a little baby. Or at least an egg? I forget. But Grrr is on pause at present.

2:05pm:  I just got to see Grrr's baby: it's a Shirobebitchi, a little girl. :-)  So cute!!

Also, I now have all three of my Aquapets in the living room. I haven't taken a photo of them all together in there yet, but I have them on the stereo. Here are pics of Tu (earth spirit) and Miku (water spirit)--click on the photos to see them larger. See picture of Puku (wind spirit) above.

Wednesday, August 25, 2004, 5:02pm: Well, it seems the only sorts of females Mrs. Busybody wanted to bring around for my poor Alvin were um, not of his intelligence level, to say the least.  ::sigh::  She brought around Tarakotchi both at 3pm and 7pm yesterday. Both times Alvin said no. But then I thought maybe he might die an old bachelor, so today when the Matchmaker arrived in the late morning--with yet *another* Tarakotchi--he gave in and said yes. At 10:31am he was married, love bloomed, fireworks occurred, and Alvin now has a bouncing baby girl! :-)  We don't know her name yet.

Thursday, August 26, 2004, 10:41am: Ack! I forgot to check on Alvin until just now. It looks like his daughter had pooped and was sick too. :-(  I got her cleaned up and healthy. They needed food and happiness, so I fed them and then had Alvin jump the hurdles. Alvin might still be here (and not left yet) because I had him on pause off and on late yesterday afternoon/evening. Grrr (Bunnicula's Tam) has left, and his daughter (whose name I forget) is here alone now.

New things! I received LOVELY pages full of beautiful gifts from the two groups I am in for our wedding anniversary! Here is the portal for the Garden of Friendship pages; and here is the one for the Women of Strength and Inner Beauty. [EDIT Jan. 14, 2005: These pages are gone now] [EDIT May 29, 2007: I have my Garden of Friendship wedding anniversary gift pages from 2004 back up!]

There are new adoptions over in My Treasures: a new Peek-A-Boo Baby, and a brand-new page, Bloomin' Bears.

Friday, August 27, 2004, 12:32pm: For those of you new to my CM's Diary, I *did* have a beautiful up-to-date-looking blog for a while, first powered by Greymatter for a very short time, then changing over to Movable Type. It ran from April 4th through June 9th. However I found it very tedious and blocking the creative flow because I had to do a lot of the HTML (and possibly elements of style-sheets, Cat'r said) by hand whenever I wanted to add a photo or blinkie or anything. Oh yeah, and at that point there was no way to control comments. I was getting some spammy porno comments. Grr. To cap it all off, we had a cable modem outage at one point. I couldn't post at ALL to my blog, since it was up on the server, in the cgi-bin! So I moved everything back over to this format, cutting and pasting one entry at a time. But it was worth it to me. I feel much freer, using FrontPage. So that's why I have this "old-fashioned" dippy-looking diary. :-P

Alvin is *still* here (which I don't mind because he's so cute). He's a very protective father, it seems. Also it's probably because I have had him off-and-on pause a good bit. Meanwhile Bunnicula's 2d generation Tam, a girl (whose name I keep forgetting), turned into a cute li'l Young Mimitchi today. :-)

I've been playing Toontown again, but on the Test server! Over there they have the Pet Shops and Doodles (pets for your estate)! I will be so glad when they are ready to bring those great new features to Open! My main Toon on Open is Little Comet Flippendorf; and she has TONS of jellybeans, ready to spend on the most expensive, intelligent, cute Doodle, plus things in the cattlelog for the Doodles: tricks they can learn! (sorta like the acting lessons for Toons, I guess)

AND this morning very early I finally gave in to the siren call of LarkRise, my town in Animal Crossing! I weeded the whole place, got rid of the bugs, talked to some people, even participated in Officer Copper's early-morning aerobics class. I had been missing LarkRise a LOT, the sounds of the insects, the turning of the seasons, the nostalgia of my town. I even went to Apple, as Cat'r. Longish-short story: Cat'r was going to delete his town, Apple, because he needed the memory card and didn't care to play anymore. A lot of LarkRisians had moved there in the beginning, so I would've missed them TERRIBLY if he had done that. So I traded him a blank card I had for Apple! Yay! Apple was saved! Anyway, this morning I also went to Apple, as Cat'r, and talked to folks, cleaned up/straightened his basement (so you can walk in it and see what you have), began the monumental task of weeding (he hasn't been there for 20 months!!!), etc. Actually, I should probably be putting this in My Animal Crossing Diary. Who says you can't go home again?!  :-)  Well, okay, some events are closed to me forever, unless I start a new character; but it's still my town, my home, a place I spent an entire year. The sounds, the ambience, the quirky townsfolk, the festivals--it's all still there!

3:21pm:  Alvin update: eek, I got the battery-low symbol! So I got out the extra battery that came with my Tamagotchi Connection and installed it per the instructions. Nothing. Blank screen, buttons wouldn't work. After switching the batteries back and forth a couple more times, I got a pulsing egg. Eek! I thought for sure I had lost Alvin and his daughter! But when I hit the B button, it gave me the options Download or Reset. I chose Download; and Alvin and daughter were back, just fine.  ::whew!!!!::  Bunnicula can't remember where he has his TamC package, so he is going to get several batteries when he goes to the grocery later today.

It has been suggested that these batteries run out lots faster than the LR44's in regular Tams because of the infrared thingumee. We here at the Mouse House do let our pets visit a LOT, so that might account for my battery running out so quickly.

11:06pm: More Animal Crossing stuff, over in the right place this time. :-)  I do love that game. It never totally leaves you...or vice versa.  :-)

I think Alvin might leave tonight...

Saturday, August 28, 2004, 10:24am: Alvin left during the night. I didn't check on Betty (that's his daughter's name) until 9:25am. She was crying and all her hearts had emptied out! Eep! I got her back in shape quickly. She did the hurdles this morning and did all 30 of them! Fireworks! Yayayayayay!

I started a new Animal Crossing character/human last night! Hee hee!

Sunday, August 29, 2004, 1:07pm: At 1:11pm yesterday afternoon Betty became a Konakomotchi. She is currently in what is considered her rebellious stage, although she seems fairly even-tempered to me. Every once in a while I catch her rolling back and forth across the screen. ::grin::

Both Bunnicula's and Cat'r's TamConnections' batteries gave out today, within minutes of each other! Fortunately we had several fresh ones on hand! ::whew!::

Played Animal Crossing for about 4 hours this morning! Eep! :-P

Tuesday, August 31, 2004, 6:24am: Betty was on pause a lot yesterday. But later in the day I had her running; and at 7:51pm she turned into a cute little Young Mimitchi! :-)

When I wasn't playing Animal Crossing myself, I was watching Bunnicula play. Hee! He has such good interior design ideas! I wish I could think up original stuff like he does. Here is what I did yesterday in Animal Crossing.

Sparkly line
