Sunday, April 1, 2007, 12:17am: We're in a new month--April !

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: I am going to need your help in a couple weeks! (this is NOT an April Fool's joke, BTW--I am totally serious) Beginning Monday, April 16th (and for two weeks) I will need your votes every day Monday-Thursday in WebTown's Key to the City Competition. This is the most prestigious round of competition there--it's their once-a-year competition for the best-of-the-best. So please please (on bended knee, even!), if you like my site even a little, please watch this page for further information and My Voting Page

My Voting Page

for the button that will take you DIRECTLY to where you can vote for The Mouse House. There will be other buttons on My Voting Page; but the most important one will be the one leading to WebTown KTTC 2007.  Thank you in advance!  [EDIT Sept. 19, 2007: I have quit competing as of today, so the Voting Page is no longer there--thanks for all your support!]

Oh, please go check the tail-end of Part 71 of CM's Diary. I made some entries earlier today (it's still March 31st to me!).

1:18am: I should be asleep!! But my St. Patrick's Day flowers bloomed tonight! Go see them in my Spirit Flower Garden!

9:46am: What a wonderful surprise and honour! I was voted Most Active Member in the Membership Pride Committee in The Garden of Friendship! ::faint!:: I am always surprised when I win awards in that group, as I am such a mouse and don't feel I do very much there. ::grin::

Tuesday, April 3, 2007, 2:54pm: Bizzy mouse! Beady-eyed mouse (hehehe)! I made three strands of prayer beads yesterday! Well, it was a matter of "make hay while the moon shines"! (I wanted to get things done during the power of the full moon)

I had been nervous about using beading wire and crimp tubes and all, so I had been sticking to using waxed cotton and linen cord. But I didn't have much choice yesterday! I found out that I would just have to jump in and do it!

It turned out that the "pearl" (imitation but pretty) I had purchased for making Karen's Moon Beads didn't have a big enough hole to accommodate the waxed linen cord I was going to use. ::sigh:: So instead I strung the whole thing on Beadalon stringing wire (7 strand). I had bought the cheapest kind of nylon-coated beading wire, as I hadn't been sure I was going to take to using wire at *all* and didn't want to buy something more expensive until I was sure. So that's what I had on hand and that's what I had to use. And by golly I actually was able to use a crimp tube! And the beads turned out nice! I was surprised!

Next set of beads: no problem. I made the beads for my sister by stringing them on waxed cotton cord.

Third set: Uh, the bead I bought to act as a pendant for Mousie's Tree Beads didn't have a big enough hole either.   :-/  So I just started doing things with wire and crimp tubes and other findings (that's what the little fiddly bits of jewelry are called). I made the pendant for the beads with wire. The rest of the set of beads is all strung on waxed cotton cord.

Saturday, April 21, 2007, 9:05pm: After I finished reading Wickett's Remedy (great book, a bit too abrupt of an ending for my taste), I read a fascinating novel called Middlesex. I hope you know by now, if you've been reading this diary for any length of time, that I am adult; and therefore a lot of the books I read are not necessarily appropriate for children. This book was seriously good, exploring a different kind of coming-of-age. What I'm reading right now is the novelization of the movie Miss Potter. I hope to see it sometime!
