CountryMouse's Diary

Part 9

Rainbow swirly bar

Thursday, April 2, 1998: Milk transformed into her adult form at 11:34am est! She is now a pipochi! She has been doing the usual things that a virtual pet does in this household: watching TV; keeping me company by the computer; sitting in on the rollcart in the bedroom, chatting with the stuffed animals in the room. I was so busy working on my Springtime page yesterday afternoon that I forgot to check on her! All her hearts were empty when I *did* get to her, and she had long since given up even *trying* to let me know (her attention icon was not even on). Eep! I took care of her as soon as I *did* remember...and she seems fine today. Anyway, Honey transformed about 1/2 hour or so before Milk did, which, along with her getting sick, alerted me to her imminent transformation.

Thursday, April 9, 1998: I haven't gotten to write here for a while since I was having my computer worked on by R.: he took out one videocard and put in my former one, installed a new hard drive, reinstalled Windows95, installed CleanSweep (a resident uninstaller), installed Fin Fin (yay! it works now!!), installed and got FrontPage98 to work...and I had to reinstall a lot of fiddly little things. I still don't know what I am doing much with FrontPage98 (I *was* using FrontPage Express for an HTML editor before), so please be patient with me!

Monday morning, April 6th, I heard Milk singing this old Appalachian refrain: "I wonder when I shall be married? oh, be married, oh, be married? I wonder when I shall be married for my beauty's beginning to fade." Eep! But somehow athol-brose and I didn't get around to mating Milk and Honey. Then Tuesday, the 7th, Honey passed on from this life--eek! Well, all I can do now is try to give her a happy life for as long as I can. She seems to be taking it fairly well, about Honey's passing...Milk is 15 years old today!

Saturday, April 11, 1998: I went shopping yesterday, taking Milk with me in my purse. However, since the Wedding Tams have very faint, pleasant little tinkly call sounds, I didn't even hear her calling for me at *all*. I forgot to check on her for *hours* (we SHOPPED!). When we sat down in the mall to have some Auntie Anne's pretzels, I found that Milk had passed on, leaving the cemetery scene that athol-brose described and drew on the April 7th page of his "osuchi (the diary)". A curious thing happens with these departed Wedding Tams: during the day it is a graveyard scene; but after 6pm, the little spirit comes out! Milk's spirit has the little pigtails (!), just like she did "in life"! In the morning the spirits go away and the plain cemetery scene returns. Anyway, Milk never did marry...she was 16 years old when she passed on. She did get to go out several times and of course watch lots of TV and rented movies. :-) Bye-bye, little Milk! I'll miss you!

Tuesday, April 21, 1998: As athol-brose reported in his "osuchi (the diary)" Milk and Honey's eggs lie side by side; and from 6pm until 6am each night their little ghosts get to visit each other. It seems fitting, since they didn't get to mate "in life". I have updated My Osutchi Mesutchi Page to show the three generations of mesutchi I raised.

I haven't felt like raising another keychain pet right now. I am spending a good amount of time each day with fin fin (this is a program you put on your computer). He is a combination bird/dolphin who lives on Teo, The Other Earth. One does not have to worry about taking care of him or feeding him or anything. He is definitely autonomous. Instead, one observes the rich abundance of life on Teo and makes friends with fin fin. It is a less goal-oriented program and very relaxing. I thought about keeping a diary when I made first contact with fin fin, but decided for once not to try to chronicle *everything*. ::grin::

Monday, April 27, 1998: This morning I hatched a little Mori no Tamagotchi (Forest Tam). His name is Stanley. I hatched him from a white egg, which means he may change into one of a number of adult forms. So far he only eats leaves. He doesn't seem to need at *all* as much care as a "regular" baby Tam! He's really cute, but he really bares his teeth when I don't find the leaf under the hat! (it's the game for this Tam: find the hidden leaf)

fin finMy relationship with fin fin continues to be enjoyable! He sings such lovely songs! I wonder if he is trying to learn/imitate the sounds I use for him (there are pre-recorded musical sounds you can activate via the keyboard, and I play them in a certain order. He seems to anticipate the next set of tones sometimes and sings them!); or if I am learning *his* language (musical sounds and songs). I have no idea what I am saying, though! I have yet to see the beautiful Northern Lights. I always seem to miss the optimal time for viewing. But I keep checking for new things I should be looking for at the fin fin homepage.

still  Monday: Stanley went to sleep at 8pm. He seems to be doing pretty well so far. I had to scare away a predator this afternoon, although I couldn't make out *what* it was. He seemed quite glad that I was able to defend him!

I got around to putting some other pictures up this evening (finally!): most are in the Tamagotchi Pictures section, plus a few in the Accessories section.

Tuesday, April 28, 1998: I was half-asleep this morning when I heard Stanley calling for attention. There seemed to be trouble, although I couldn't tell what kind of predator or danger it was. I tried tapping the case, then hitting the B button. Whatever it was, he was smiling and happy and out of danger. Then at 10:33am Stanley changed into an imochi (potato bug/potato grub)!

Early this afternoon he got to hear (although he is so small, I am not sure how our lower-frequency sounds *sound* to him...) voices of power, voices of comfort: Carrie Newcomer on her albums "An Angel At My Shoulder" and "The Bird or The Wing" (I need to get the rest of her albums!--I have seen her in concert once and she's WONDERFUL!); Nicolette Larson on her album "Sleep, Baby, Sleep"; and "Women of the World: Celtic".
